We've been teaching people to write for search engines since 2015
Our program started because we couldn't find decent training for content writers who needed to understand SEO. Most courses either dumped keyword lists on students or talked about writing without touching optimization.
Started small, built it piece by piece
The first version was a 6-week email course. We had 23 people sign up and 18 finish it. What we learned from that group shaped everything that came after. They wanted actual examples of keyword placement, not theory. They needed to see how title tags affect click-through rates with real numbers.
By 2017 we'd built out modules on search intent, content structure, and meta descriptions. Students kept asking how to write product pages that rank, so we added e-commerce sections. Then came case studies showing before-and-after traffic numbers from sites we'd worked on.
Now we've taught over 4,200 people. Some write for agencies, others run their own content shops. A few became SEO consultants. The program keeps changing based on what Google prioritizes and what students struggle with most.
How we actually teach this stuff
Three things matter when you're learning to write optimized content: understanding what search engines look for, practicing with real assignments, and getting feedback that improves your next piece.
Keyword research that works
You'll use tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush to find terms people actually search for. We show you how to spot search volume patterns, competition levels, and which keywords convert. No guessing about what to target.
Structure for readability and crawling
Learn how heading hierarchy affects both readers and bots. Practice writing intro paragraphs that reduce bounce rates. Build internal linking structures that distribute page authority across your site.
Real assignments with metrics
Write blog posts targeting specific keywords, then analyze the results. Optimize existing pages and track ranking changes. Every assignment includes performance data so you see what actually moves the needle.
Meta elements that get clicks
Craft title tags that balance keywords with click appeal. Write meta descriptions that improve CTR from search results. Learn character limits, special characters that stand out, and A/B testing basics.
Content types for different intents
Understand when to write how-to guides versus comparison articles. Match content format to search intent. Practice writing for informational, commercial, and transactional queries with different optimization approaches.
Technical elements writers should know
Get familiar with schema markup basics. Understand how page speed affects rankings. Learn what canonical tags do and when image alt text matters. Enough technical knowledge to work with developers.
How students move through the program
The course runs over 12 weeks. Each phase builds on previous skills, and you'll have written at least 15 optimized pieces by the end.
